Servant Event Field Trip:

Breeze Park Senior Center

When: DATE: Friday, April 11

DEPART: depart 9:10 A.M.

RETURN: by 12:30 P.M.

Where: Breeze Park Care Center

600 Breeze Park Drive

                       Weldon Spring, MO 63304

Purpose: To serve seniors and our community

We have an opportunity to SHINE the love of Jesus

 in St. Charles!  Students will be working with plantings

 and cleaning old flower beds at Breeze Park.  We will

 also have social time with the residents.  

How: parent drivers (with a background check)

Bring:  water bottle, may need garden gloves

Dress: SHINE t-shirt (will receive from teacher) 

 -dress down bottoms and sneakers.

- Wear sunscreen!  Hat optional.

    

 (Remember: We will be serving with gladness, and it might be a mess. 😀)

 

 SAVE THE DATE - Wednesday, May 11  Lutheran Heritage Tour  

          ***EXTENDED DAY  6:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.****

 

Our end of the year field trip will be an extended day trip to Perry County, 

Missouri.  We will have an opportunity to learn the history of some of the 

earliest Lutherans to settle in America and how Veterans are honored. Our

 trip will take us to:

Missouri National Veteran’s Memorial

1172 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Perryville, MO 

  This is an exact replica of the D.C. Vietnam Memorial with an expanding war museum. 

 Students will learn about honoring veterans of all U.S. military branches.

Lutheran Heritage Center Museum 75  Church St. Altenburg, MO    

     &    Saxon Lutheran Memorial

 296 Saxon Memorial Dr.  Frohna, MO 

Here we will have an opportunity to not only learn history but also try typical chores 

of the early pioneers on an historic homestead.   Some possibilities are churning butter, 

laundry, grinding corn, and trying carpentry tools.

Plan on   Arrival at Zion between 6:30-6:40 AM            YES, THAT’S EARLY!!

A comfy charter bus ride, graciously sponsored by our PTL!!!  Leaves at 6:50!!

*An historical tour learning about the earliest Lutherans in America.

*Active participation at homestead (wear appropriate clothes, 

shoes/boots)  rain or shine.  

LUNCH: Cold lunch with a drink

Return to Zion at 5:30 P.M.  (plan accordingly)

and the spread of the Christian faith in America!!
