Short Stories in English Class - Printed copy by Wednesday 1/18

We have been busy with revising and proofreading.  Here is a repeat of the printing tips for our Mysteries.  If your child needs to print at school, they need to pre-arrange a before/after school time or a study hall time with me.

      1)  You may print from Google Docs - but be sure to "Print using system dialog box" so your printer's features can be accessed.  OR

Download the document from Google Docs to Word to format and print.

      2)  Students will have revised and proofread, but may miss some mistakes.  Although tempting, please do not edit for them.  When looking back at this work years later, your child can reflect on their original work and what they accomplished by themselves.

      3)  Help your child decide where page breaks should occur.  We have 7 printed pages, but you may use front/back if needed.  MAKE MARGINS 1 1/2 inches on left to account for binding.

      4) Do a test print for 1 page on plain paper to see which side is "UP".  I have only a few extra pages for printer errors.

      5)  Your printer may have a glossy setting.  Print one page at a time and allow ink to "dry" a bit as it may smear.

**Students will receive one published, hardbound copy of their book for FREE .  Families may choose to purchase additional copies.  Information will be sent home NEXT WEEK about ordering copies.
