We had a gorgeous day for our trip! God blessed us with sunny skies and a nice
breeze. Our historians were wonderful
storytellers who made the history of the Saxon immigrants come to life for
us. How amazing to see God's care for his people despite many hardships. Students also enjoyed making pizzas that
were baked in the brick oven for us. We tried typical chores, and of course the kids favorite play
time and social time on the bus! Thanks to the moms who chaperoned
and helped make the day run smoothly. Thanks to PTL for sponsoring our comfy bus - we rode in style!
Photos from our trip are all mixed up below. We first toured Trinity Lutheran Church (c.1869) and the log cabin that had been the first seminary. We looked at artifacts in the museum and saw the geneology library. Then we headed to Saxon Memorial where we made lunch and learned about the homestead. Moms - if you have any good photos, especially of groups, I'd love to share them!
REMEMBER - Friday, May 18 will the our Faith Family Field Day. Lunch (pizza, goldfish crackers, fruit, drink) are provided. We will have "field day" activities inside and out with our faith families for the afternoon. SUNSCREEN DAY!
MONDAY - May 21 the Junior High will celebrate the end of the year with a GREAT SKATE FIELD TRIP for our afternoon. Watch for a permission slip to come home on Monday.
NO HOT LUNCH - The last week of school, students will need to pack a cold lunch. Mrs. Boettcher will have some goodies for sale as we clean out the kitchen for the summer.
