We have been busy with tests and quizzes! Monday will mark the midpoint of the 1st quarter. It is a good opportunity for you and your child to check grades on Sycamore and reflect on your child's progress. (Please give teachers until the school day ends on Monday to update progress).
When Friday papers come home, encourage your child to pick the work they are most proud of and share with you why. Also look for something which they might set a goal: reading directions more carefully, studying vocabulary, asking questions in class, neater handwriting, taking an A.R. test. Every child grows at a different pace and we can celebrate the learning that takes place each day! Please don't hesitate to contact teachers with questions you may have.
Today an electrician from Cuivre River came to talk to Science classes about energy. Be sure to ask your child all about it!
Field Trip: Drivers needed Oct. 12
On Friday, Oct. 12 we head to Weldon Spring Interpretive Center to learn about energy, environmental clean up, and stewardship of our natural habitats. After a picnic lunch we head to St. Charles Lanes to bowl. We are in need of parent drivers to join us for the day, from 8:30 - 2:45.
Please email me if you are interested in chaperoning. You will need a current driver background check. Contact Michelle Thomason in the church office to see if you need an update. Also let me know how many students you could drive. Further information will come out as the date approaches.
