From the class bloggers, Alex and Ryan
We had a short but exciting two-day week this week. After two snow days and
six total days away from school, many were excited to return. We continued our
valentines art project, and had fun eating fruit loops in math class. We also
enjoyed playing out in the snow. We got to do our Kid’s Heart Challenge activity
in the gym. We enjoyed it and also got to wear comfy clothes. And we got a new
roommate, Eddy Bonesy the plastic skeleton, for our science unit about the
body. It was a fun less-than-half week at school!

Math - G-Math beginning ratios and unit rates. T-Math is getting into the meat of fraction operations.
Grocery shopping for the best buy and cooking (doubling recipes) are great hands on ways to

Our nonfiction unit began with essays on African Americans in baseball and Jackie Robinson.
We took time to study a bit of the Civil Rights Movement as we explored informational articles. I hope
you take the opportunities to talk about important moments in history and how we are all
equal in God's eyes. After our Civil Rights video we watched Speak Life by
contemporary Christian artist, Toby Mac.
We read a Lincoln biography now (Happy Birthday, Abe!!) and will be comparing the style of
writing to an autobiography of author Beverly Cleary (The Ramona author is 104!!)
