How exciting to finally see a little snowfall! As I am typing this I
am watching the white take over the lawn out back and I am reminded of a
verse from Isaiah:
...Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. Isaiah 1:18
How
wonderful a reminder that all our sins have been washed away by the
blood of Jesus. All God sees when He looks at us is Christ's
perfection!
End of 2nd Q
Students
celebrate the halfway mark of 6th grade! I am so proud of their hard
work. I see growth in so many ways. Teachers are finalizing grades and
report cards come home next Friday. It is a good time to sit down with
your child and ask of what they are most proud. We are enjoying
lessons on drama, fractions, long division, adverbs, Asia, genetics and how the Holy
Spirit works in our lives. So much learning going on!

Zion is headed to Zambia!!
For Lutheran Schools week, Zion students will have opportunities to learn about children in Africa as part of our Online Mission project through Lutheran Hour Ministries.
In 6th grade, we will cancel regular SS classes for a week long webquest learning about geography, history, culture, and the Gospel witness in this amazing country!
We are also designating our chapel offerings for Jan 19 and Jan 26 to go to their Global Kid's Fund. Through LHM;s ministry centers in Kenya and Madagascar, kids will receive backpacks filled with pens, paper, workbooks, other school supplies and a Christian book sharing the Gospel message
A gift of $15 will provide one complete kit of a backpack and supplies..
Let's see how many backpacks we can fill!
Below is information from Student Council on the winter dance. This is for Zion Junior High Students only.
JH Winter Dance
The 2022 Winter Dance theme is Hollywood! The dance is scheduled for Friday, January 28th from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. The entry fee is five dollars per person, and if a student is dropped off, they cannot be picked up before the dance is over. Expect your student to wear something like jeans and a nice shirt (not incredibly formal). There are going to be teachers taking pictures, snacks, and music playing. The snacks may include CapriSuns, popcorn, gummy bears, and soda. Make sure that your student knows to be dropped off in front of the commons, the actual dance takes place in the gym, and that the doors will be open by seven. See ya there!
