"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” God wants us to share His love with others so that others will know Him. Jesus loved us so much that He died to forgive us and rose to give us Life. We painted wood pieces that will be put together to make a cross. The cross is a reminder of Jesus’ great love for us. This cross will be hung in the church for Lutheran Schools Week. We also we able to spend some time getting to know each other and our different interests. It is always good to end our time in the church and remember and celebrate baptismal birthdays.
Chapel Offerings for Cambodia
During the month of January, our offerings will support the mission work in Cambodia which is organized by Lutheran Hour Ministries. Students can start collecting money at home or put it in their classroom change box. During National Lutheran Schools Week, these offerings and change boxes can be brought to chapel on Wednesday, January 24th. Through our offerings, we can help spread the word of Christ across the world!
Lutheran Schools Week is coming! We will have special dress days and events that week.

From the Class Blogger: Avery
On Wednesday we started our class play. We all got to act out parts. It was pretty funny! Monday in Social Studies we worked on climate graphs. On Monday Mrs. Steinbacher came back and taught us gym. We also worked on our idioms in literature.

Field Trips -
Permission slips came home today for the Feb. 2 Ski Date. Please read the information carefully and let me know if you have any questions. Note parents need to sign BOTH the Zion permission and the pink ski rental agreement and return the paperwork by next Friday.
Also mark Feb 16 for our drama field trip. We leave campus at 8:45 to attend Metro Theatre's production of Bud, not Buddy at the Grendal Theatre. We return before lunch that day. Again we are seeking parents to ride the bus with us and chaperone, so let me know if you are interested.
Report Cards are in your child's parents today. Please contact me with any questions you have.
And finally, one of the best gifts my parents ever gave me was a Christian education. I attended Lutheran schools from grade school on up, and though it meant family sacrifices like not eating dinners out or camping vacations instead of fancy hotels, I value the role models I had in faithful teachers, Christian friends, and knowing Christ's unconditional love discovered in our study of Scripture. Thank you for giving your child this opportunity to grow in their relationship with God through our school. (p.s. - don't forget to re-enroll for next year!)
