**Report cards came home Friday.  Be sure to check your child's backpack.  Let me know if you have any questions.

From the class bloggers, Emma and Lisabetta

This week we acted out the ending part of our play The Phantom TollBooth for literature.

Tuesday we started brainstorming ideas for our religion play and Thursday we started

writing the script. We are writing letters to send to other Lutheran schools around the country.

We had a little excitement this week with the Moscow vs Kayla war. (it’s recess fun) We

started a new writing project for English realistic fiction: make up a story that could happen

in real life. We are getting ready for the start of Lutheran Schools Week the dress days

  • Monday : Pajama Day (Bring a stuffed animal or pillow and wear slippers but bring a

    change of shoes.)

  • Tuesday : Favorite Color Day (Wear your favorite color, wear all pink, or all purple, or

    a variety.)

  • Wednesday : Fandom Day (Wear a t-shirt or a hat to show your favorite sports team or

    sport, movie, or book.)

  • Thursday : Class Choice Day/Among Us Day (Wear all one color and bring a head

Valentine's Day

We will celebrate Valentine's Day with a class party on Thursday, Feb. 11.  Note, that is a 4 day weekend due to a teacher's workshop on Friday and Presidents' Day on Monday.  Room parents are providing treats.  At this age, bringing Valentines is OPTIONAL but if your child wishes to, please bring one for each student in our homeroom. Also note, according to school policies, students may not bring in candy to pass out and personal gift exchanges may not happen on campus (as noted in the Family Handbook).

Zion Geography Bee- Tuesday 2 p.m.

Congratulations to Alex for winning the classroom rounds of the Geography Bee.  He will represent our class on Tuesday.  Watch for information on livestreaming the Bee.

 Looking for a good read?

Mark Twain Nominated books are a great way to get AR points for the 3rd and 4th quarter. If your student reads 4 of these nominated books, they can actually vote for which books wins the award in our state. Contact your local library, and place some of these books on reserve. They chosen by librarians as some of the best new books.  I've read 7 so far and they are all good!

Use the website for more info on specific books.  A few are available through Scholastic Book orders, too!  Book orders will be placed on Sunday.
