Week 27 End of 3rd Quarter - Field Trip News (3/8)

It's been an amazingly fast 3rd quarter!  I am absolutely loving the time with these students.  Challenging them to grow in their knowledge and ambitions as well as tackling the day to day struggles with temptation and sin - what a blessing to be able to look to our Lord and see the call to repentance and his open arms of forgiveness!

Lent season, Holy week and Good friday ...
Lent begins

Lent began this week with Ash Wednesday.  In our memory study of the Lord's prayer we see how God cares for our every need.  Our class devotion time now will focus on Christ's amazing love for us -  that he would come to this earth and take our sins on the cross. During Lent I try to recommit myself to personal devotions and prayer.  This is a time to focus on Jesus and His great love for us.  Jesus gave His life so that I can live.

Instead of giving something up for Lent, I challenge my students and you to try doing the opposite and add something ... maybe commit to Wednesday night church, attend Sunday School, be a prayer partner with a classmate, do personal devotions, do family devotions, or make weekend worship a priority in their family.

I know your faith life will be strengthened.

 Missouri National Veteran’s Memorial.

This is an exact replica of the D.C. Vietnam Memorial.  Students will learn about honoring veterans of all U.S. military branches. Families - if you have a loved one who lost their life in the Vietnam war, please send their name on to Mrs. Riemenschneider by May 1.  We would like to honor them by locating their name on the wall.

Lutheran Heritage Center Museum

Here we hear the history and examine artifacts of early Lutheran immigrants, see a Lutheran church from the 1800s and the first seminary in the country.

 Saxon Lutheran Memorial
