Welcome to 6th grade!

As a child, I remember prayers at mealtime as being a special way to invite Jesus to come be with us at our table, to be present in our every day lives.  My family prays at meals daily now, but somehow, as a parent, I have forgotten the end of the meal prayer.  It was based on Psalm 118:1 - our theme verse this year.  My family finds ourselves all headed our separate ways - some rushing off, some lingering at the table (me) We have forgotten to give thanks - to reflect on the little blessings that God showers us with each day.

This year will be a year of thanksgiving - we have so much to be thankful for: our families, our health, our new classes, our Great God who holds us all in His hand - forever.  We will take the time to give thanks in many different ways.

I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year!  With such a unique end to last year, I am busier than ever making preparations for our year and getting our classroom ready.  It will be  great year of learning, making friends, and of course, growing in our faith walk.  I am looking forward to seeing your child VIRTUALLY on a Meet and Greet Google Hangout the week of July 27.   Watch for a sign up time in your email. Parents are welcome, but it's not necessary for you to be present.  This is a chance for me to begin to get to know your child.
  •         Week of July 20 - Email from Mr. Debrick about starting the school year
  •         Aug. 7 - Teachers will email our orientation video for our classrooms
  •         Week of Aug. 10  - Teachers will have a Q & A online session for parents                 (watch for school email scheduling so no conflict of times)
  •         Aug 19 - First day of school

Please note - the email address I have for you is what is listed on Sycamore.  Be sure to update that if needed.  If you have additional email addresses that you would like to be included in my parent group, please email me separately.

Enjoy the last weeks of summer break!

God's blessings,

**School supplies:  Please stick closely to the school supply list.  You will also need to provide a mask for your child to have at the ready should we need to use them.  Label all items with student names.  Students may bring desk supplies the first day of school and then other supplies as available (tissues, wipes, etc)  Please email me any questions you have about the supply list.
