Welcome to 6th Grade!

Jesus said these words to his disciples in the upper room.  They were uneasy, confused, not quite understanding that Jesus was alive and what their role was.  So Jesus says, "Peace be with you."  Peace is far more than the absence of problems: it is the victory found in Jesus through our problems, in our difficulties, over our fears.  What a great message as we begin a new school year (yes, your child is old enough to be in Jr. High!!)  What a great comfort as Jesus sends us out to be His witnesses in our community.

I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year!   I am busy making preparations for you and getting our classroom ready.  It will be great year of learning, making friends, and of course, growing in our faith.  I am looking forward to seeing you at our Open House on a August 16 between 2-7 p.m.  Our classroom is in the lower level of the Junior High building.  Stop in to greet me and Mrs. Donner, the other 6th grade teacher.  You may drop off school supplies * * that day.   Don't forget that school photos for the yearbook will be taken in the Commons, so be sure to wear a polo.  I look forward to partnering with you in your child's education and faith walk.

Enjoy the last weeks of summer break!

God's blessings,

**School supplies:  Please stick closely to the school supply list.  You will also need to provide a mask for your child to have at the ready should we need to use them.  Label all items with student names.  It's OK to hold off on buying facial tissues until winter.  I have plenty to start the year.  I'll let you know when we are running low.   Please email me any questions you have about the supply list.

Before/After Care
Zion families: please fill out the attached form if you will be using before or after care this year. Before care will be between 7am-7:45am. After care will be between 3pm-6pm.  Please help us plan for staffing needs.

In Christ,
