Week 38: Saxon Field Trip

What a lovely day we had out in the country today.  The rain stopped as we pulled into Altenburg and by afternoon, we had pleasant temperatures and the sun peaking out now and then.  We learned a lot about early immigration and the challenges the first Lutherans had to their faith as they faced many trials.  The kids will tell you the "recess and bus" were the best parts of the day, but they did learn a little something, too.  : )

I must say I am quite impressed with this group of kids.  They asked good questions and had genuine interest in the history and artifacts we saw.  This group has a lot of comradary and created their own entertainment (within limits) during our down times and when the DVD player on the bus failed.  It was an enjoyable class trip.  Thanks again, parents who chaperoned.  Without you, we could not provide opportunities like this.  I hope to add a few more photos next week.  WiFi at home is tempermental tonight.
