Week 4

From the class bloggers: By Yuan and Heidi

This week was very difficult because of all the tests like English, Science, and

Religion. Aidan and Nicky came back to school finally after two weeks. We

also got to eat ice cream and it was very delicious. This week was the second

week of sports which includes Volleyball, Soccer, and Cross Country. It was

very hot this week outside. We learned alot this week and we are so excited

for the next week to come.

From Mrs. R.:

Thanks to our generous PTL for the special ice cream treats this week!

We continue to work on organization skills, cleaning out binders at the end of the week, using our planner to record work, pack our bag, check off when things are done, etc. There is even a "notes" column for students to write things like "piano lesson today" or "bring soccer uniform."  The biggest challenge is long range planning (assigned on Monday, due Thursday)  We are growing stronger in these lifelong skills!

Some current happenings:

Religion: Next up: The "genres" of the Bible

2nd Steps: Active listening, what is empathy

T Math: PEMDAS  (ask your child), long division review
Math: PEMDAS  (ask your child) and decimal place value

Social Studies:  Earth/Sun relationship and how God created our seasons and climates
