Week 13 Virtual Learning and Cup stacking

 Virtual learning -

THANK YOU!! for all of your help at home and running up to get materials.  I am gradually sorting through assignments.  Sycamore will  not be updated this weekend.  Please keep asking questions.  Remember our Open House zooms with both teachers are at 3:00  on school days (Mrs. Donner sends a link) and I am happy to set up individual chats to answer questions at other times.  Looking forward to having you back with us soon!  (SCROLL DOWN TO LAST WEEK FOR HELPFUL TIPS)

No 5/6 Advent service

Below is the information from the office about our service.  I was unable to share the news with students today, so please talk with your child.  Although it is very disappointing to not have this opportunity to lead worship, we will find other ways to celebrate the advent season as a class.

Note, student musicians who auditioned or plan to audition after quarantine may still play their piece for morning chapel on Dec. 1.  Keep practicing!!  Memory assignments for next week will be canceled.  (This week - still finish please!!)

A note from administration:

5th and 6th Grade Parents,

Grades 5 and 6 were scheduled for leading our Advent service on December 1st.  At this time we have decided not to host those services.  Reasons behind this decision are the following:

  • Many of the 6th grade students have been out of school for quarantine or positive cases in the past week.  Therefore, preparation for the services have been difficult.
  • Safety of mixing classes for rehearsals and then for the services was considered as we do all we can to minimize the spread of the virus.
  • The last two Advent services hosted by the 3rd and 4th graders as well as the 1st and 2nd graders are still scheduled to proceed as planned.

We know this is a disappointing decision, and kids will miss out on leading those services.  We will have a 8am chapel service that Wednesday morning for the 1st thru 8th graders to attend.Prayers are with all of you as we get into the Thanksgiving and Advent seasons.
