Week 27 End of 3rd Q and BOOK FAIR NEWS

March 11, 2022 Quinn and Owen

This week we started off with a couple changes in the schedule because

of our snow days in the past weeks. On Thursday we sent our 8th- 7th

varsity basketball team to nationals (and our Academic team to State!!).

At the end of the week we had a couple tests. And at the end of the week

we will have spring break. That's all, bye!

End of 3rd Quarter

This week, the students have been working hard on learning about population data analysis, diet and nutrition, ratios, beginning research papers, and using online web tools for research.   We've seen JESUS as TRUE GOD and TRUE MAN by digging deeper into his miracles and parables.  Now we are ready to start the walk to the cross.  We dove into new novel and learning how we can relate to characters in two ways: as a  MIRROR looking into our lives or as a WINDOW into an experience we've never had.  Check out the trailer for Blended  by Susan Draper.  It was a nominee for the Mark Twain award and won  Busy times in 6th grade!

Friday marked the end of 3rd quarter.  I am so proud of the students and their hard work this year!  Teachers are processing grades and report cards will be sent home on the Friday after Spring Break.

The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Zion IN-PERSON and we are so excited to be back! The Book Fair will be held Wednesday, March 23rd - Sunday, March 27th and will be held in the Church Welcome Center this year.

The students will be attending the fair with their classes on Thursday and Friday.  However, the fair will be open to all families for Lenten Services on Wednesday, March 23rd as well as church services on Saturday and Sunday.

This year we will also be utilizing the Book Fair eWallet to help the teacher’s fulfill their wish lists.  You can shop from teacher wish boxes at the in-person fair or simply add money to your teacher’s eWallet.  Please consider helping our teacher’s continue to grow their classroom libraries.
