Week 35: Best Choice

I can't believe we only have 2 weeks left!  I so enjoy working with your children and I have seen them grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. We are packing in the last 8 days with lots of learning along with memory making moments and fun!

See your daily email from this week for the topics we discussed in Best Choice.  I pray these can be good discussion moments for you at home.

What's Happening in 6th grade:

Religion - The witness of the Apostles in Acts and our own opportunities to witness.  Kids will be writing devotions from Contemporary Christian songs. Final Quiz Monday, May 23.

Lit -  Oral Tradition - Greek Mythology to round out the year.

S.S. - Now that we have studied many parts of the world, we end with  Latin America and immigration.  We will discover the impact of different cultures on making America the country it is today.  Monday is Immigrant Day - students will bring simple props to help become their "character" to teach an immigrant story to their group.  Then we will learn about Lutheran immigration to America.  Test this Wednesday.

G-Math and T-Math - positives, negatives and inequalities.  Both classes have their last test this Thursday.  We will complete a final diagnostic to see our growth this year.

Science - Waterslide project

English/Computer Science - Designing our own computer game

Library return - Please have your child clean out backpacks and bedrooms.  Be sure to return and Zion or classroom library books this week.
