Week 20: Donuts, drama, microscopes

Parents,

I hope you enjoyed the weekend and staying warm.  It was good to see so many dads enjoying a breakfast treat with their children on Wednesday at Donuts for Dads.  I'm glad many of you could spend this special time together.  Telling kids those stories of "When I was your age" are both good bonding moments and ways to share your values and faith that kids do remember!

This past week's big activities were the drama The Phantom Tollbooth Act I in Literature and learning microscopes in Science class.  Ask your child what they learned!  Unfortunately, I did not get pictures this week.

Micah H. and Alex K. will represent our class in Zion's School Spelling Bee this Friday at 2:00.    Livia H. is our alternate.  God's blessings and good luck!

A couple quick notes:
  • Tomorrow (Tuesday) is group picture day for the yearbook.  Bring choir and band shirts please.
  • Next week is National Lutheran Schools week.  Check the Sycamore article for special dress days
  • Registration for next year opens to the public soon.  Go back through those emails from Zion and find your information if you did not register yet for next year.
  • Know someone who might like to make Zion their school?  Our Open House is Sunday, Jan. 24 from 1-3 p.m.  We'd love to meet them and introduce them to what Zion is all about!
