Week 6: New library, S.S. skits, and Walkathon coming!

From the class bloggers:  Nick and Katelyn:

In social studies we are putting on a little skit to represent climate zones. Each group is taking on a different climate. Another thing is in gym, where we are playing kickball. Along with that we are studying for our science test this Friday. Memory for Tuesday was Matthew 28:18-20, and for Friday was John 20:31. Our art projects are doing good as everybody is half way through them. We all missed Mrs. Riemenschneider when she was away on the 4th grade field trip on Friday.

From Mrs. R:
Math Website:  Both classes received passwords and were successful logging into the pearsonsuccessnet.com website for our text.  Highlight:  Homework video tutorials!!  Click the websites tab above for info.

Book Orders  will be placed Saturday at noon if you still wish to order.

A.R. reading test progress came home Thursday.  Several students have yet to take their first test.  This would be good to have ready for Monday.  The last day for tests in the first quarter is Oct. 8, two weeks from Monday!  Meeting the 16 point goal counts as an "A" for 1/3 of the Literature grade.

Field Trip: We had so many parent volunteers we had to draw names.  Thank you for your willingness to help our class.  More information will come out at the date comes closer.

Technology Night Tuesday:  Just a hint - the appetizers last year were hearty enough to be dinner!!  Hope you can make it for this important information night and enjoy a little fellowship with other parents!  6-7p.m.  Appetizers and Fellowship  7-8:30 Presentation: Megan Meier Presentation  Location: Lower level Church Fellowship Hall

Walkathon this Friday!!
Students will remember - but just so you know, Friday is a dress down day for our Walkathon.  Students may wear athletic bottoms (appropriate length on shorts please) and Bobcat Spirit shirts. The walkathon will occur in the afternoon.

   *wear sunscreen
*may bring hat, sunglasses, water bottle, lanyard for mileage card
*Lunch in classroom - no peanut butter please!  (Hot lunch still available)

Students, keep gathering pledges and consider a self pledge!  You may wish to ask some of those Zion friends who no longer have kids here to sponsor you as well.  If you need a new or additional pledge sheet, see me on Monday.

2nd Step: Learning about Assumptions and Empathy
