Week 23: Snow! and Chapel leaders

I thank God every day for this wonderful group of kids.  They have been so helpful and willing during this crazy time of absences, substitutes, snow day, the wish-it-was -another-snow-day, and schedules getting mixed up.  You have loving and supportive kids!

Several volunteers helped me lead chapel this week - which was supposed to be recorded Tuesday, but with no advanced notice, they jumped into a livestream worship first thing Wednesday so our schoolmates could participate in worship  Check it out on the Zion worship page.  https://vimeo.com/user110482762

You are invited to join us on that link for chapel each week.  We look forward to the day we can gather together for in-person worship as a school.

Just a reminder, Zion Church hosts both in-person and livestream/recorded worship.  As we approach Lent and Easter here are the plans for special services:

  • Ash Wednesday, Feb 17, 3:30 and 7:00 pm—no communion, ash imposition done in a contactless manner
  •  Midweek Lenten services—Wednesdays at 3:30 pm
  • Maundy Thursday—all day communion—watch for details
  • Good Friday—3:30 and 7:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 3 and Sunday, April 4—Watch for details on Easter worship.  We’ll have sign ups like Christmas Eve.

Thanks to room parents for sending in snacks for our Valentine's party.  Thanks to Mrs. Helmkamp for setting up our breakout!

5 locks on the box - 5 puzzles to solve scattered around the room

Students must work together....

communicate.....
think creatively....

and persevere through many failed attempts.

Heart Challenge - 6R participates on Friday 2/19.  See email for info.

GRANDPARENTS DAY UPDATE-

As with other events during this unique year, Zion will not be hosting Grandparents' Day on campus.  The half day that was scheduled for Friday, March 5 is now a No School day.  Classes are exploring other ways to honor our grandparents.
