From the Class Bloggers:

April 1, 2022     Addie and Delaney

This week we had lots of rain. We presented our Japan projects to the class, very

interesting stuff. We have to write our whole first draft for our english research paper.

On wednesday Mr. Maddick leads to chapelford. For our art we started working on

tree charcoal art. That's all for this week, have a good weekend.peace!

Phil’s Friends Item Drive:

As you might remember the Jr. High chose Phil’s Friends as our service project for the year.  We started with our Walk-a-thon where we raised money for the organization.  The second part of our service project is to collect items to help Phil’s Friends fill care packages for individuals diagnosed with cancer.  We will be collecting items from now until after Easter, April 31. Items can be brought in at any point and placed in the boxes by the big cross upstairs in the Jr High entry way.  You can find items that need to be donated at the link below or go to the Amazon web page and order items from the list and have them shipped to Carrie Crenshaw at Zion (3866 S. Old Hwy 94, St. Charles MO 63304).

Phil will also be here at Zion on April 5 where we will have the amazing opportunity to pack care packages with him.  We will be packing 50 care packages and would love to deliver them to people in our very own community who have been diagnosed with cancer.  If you know someone who has cancer and would like a care package sent to them please fill out the form below.

RESEARCH PAPERS UNDER CONSTRUCTION:
The first draft of the research paper is due Tuesday. This might be a good time to check in with your child have see how things are going. Read over their draft and help them use the "read aloud" technique to see if ideas flow and sentences make sense.

Field Trip on Friday!
Yay for our first field trip in 2 years! All students should bring a COLD lunch (lunch boxes OK) and are allowed to wear JEANS and a ZION RED T-SHIRT. This is a change from what the field trip form says. Make sure

they pack a jacket/coat too. It looks like it will be a bit chilly that day and

we will be outside for the most part.

Thanks again to the parents that signed up to drive. We truly appreciate you!
