Week 30: Phil's Friends and Powder Valley

 From the class bloggers

April 8, 2022 Maddy and Addie

This week was packed with exciting things. In the beginning of this week all

of the junior high decorated boxes for Phil’s Friends. They are an organization

that helps patients with cancer by donating boxes filled with necessities Today

we went on our first field trip to powder valley. It was an interesting experience to

learn how to identify more about nature and animals. Thursday was Cardinals day

and the whole school was filled with red! But most importantly it was Mr. Debrick's

birthday. Everyone in the school is getting him 60 or something since it's his 60th

birthday.  Pastor Schwab’s family should be prayed for because he sadly passed away.

This week in science we did a project practicing finding our pulses at different

activities. That's all for this week. Bye!

From Mrs. R -

What a cold day for our first field trip!! Thankfully the educators adjusted our activity

to be indoors. Thanks to all the parents both for driving and also encouraging the

students in our investigations. Your kids were great detectives. I loved to see the

collaboration and creative thinking. We had a great time!!

CAMP WARTBURG FIELD TRIP permission slip came home today.  (Friday,

April 22 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - extended day

Holy Week

It was wonderful to see the support of the Zion community and friends at our auction
Friday night. Preliminary reports show this was a big success in raising money for Zion!!
Thank you for your prayer support as well.

I encourage you to worship with your children on these special days ahead.   Sunday, we
see Jesus declaring himself not only our King, but the promised Messiah.  On
Maundy Thursday we see the remarkable transformation of the Passover into Holy
Communion - Jesus himself became our saving Lamb of sacrifice.  Honor the Good Friday
on which Christ died for our sins and the temple veil was torn in two - the separation that
sin had caused between us and our Lord is no more.  And finally the glorious day
of resurrection, EASTER, when we celebrate our victory in Christ over sin, death and
the devil.  There is nothing we could ever do to deserve this love.  What a
wonderful opportunity we have before us to learn and grow in our faith - to praise and
thank God for this glorious gift!!,
